Of course, there are large databases with journal citations and detailed minutia, but sometimes we need high-yield, concise information and memory aids. This site contains relevant information for medical students, that has been discovered, compiled and written by medical students.
The site began as a place to post histology slides specifically for a medical school class at the University of Missouri. It quickly grew to contain other valuable information like drug lists and review materials developed by Missouri students as study guides. After a year of hosting it under a different URL, the site had drawn over a million visitors. This obviously meant that students from other schools found the information helpful. This prompted the inception of Med Tutor.
Med Tutor is a large-scale continuation of the concepts that created the first site, including student cooperation. At most medical schools, competition between students is fierce, and few are willing to help those who need it. Instead of promoting competition, Med Tutor hopes to create communities of medical students helping one another through their contributions to the site and postings in the forums.
Med Tutor is NOT a place to post exam answers, assignment answers or class assignments. By posting these items, you may be in violation of your school’s policies. A good rule of thumb: if you think it might be considered cheating, it probably is. See our contribution guidelines for more information.
